the pink chair

For over forty years this one chair

 has been hot pink, aqua now floral

 but it will be forever called

 'the pink chair'

. It held the lovers,

 added warmth to an empty room,

 supported the expectant Mama,

 cradled the newborn,

 wrapped round the sobbing child,

 soothed the broken hearted teenager,

 nestled the grand-babies,

 rested the weary head

 and now comforts those

 who can find comfort no where else.

Now one pink chair and I

 are going on another adventure together..
